Walking Dead's Robert Kirkman moving from zombies to exorcisms with new show
Unsurprisingly, AMC wants to be in the Robert Kirkman game. His comic series, The Walking Dead, has become a juggernaut ratings machine for the channel, and now the network big wigs are hoping that his next project, a comic series about exorcisms, will similarly translate well to the small screen.
The story focuses on the character Kyle Barnes, whose traumatic childhood experiences involving demonic possession lead him on a spiritual quest as an adult. But the answers he finds could lead to...the end of the world! Not quite the answers he was hoping for, probably. "Demonic possession is really easy to get rid of and totally not a big deal" is a much better answer.
This is now the third Kirkman-related series heading to AMC, with an adaptation of his series Thief of Thieves also currently in development. That series involves a man leading a double life, which is certainly a first for an AMC series, right?
