Rugged Rodrigo Santoro travels to the Old West with Natalie Portman
Rodrigo Santoro, known to the female population as Carl from Love Actually, is about to get even more ruggedly attractive. The Brazilian actor will appear in Jane Got a Gun, with Natalie Portman.
The film bears no resemblance to the Aerosmith song; it is set in the Wild West, with Portman playing a farmer’s wife, who recruits one of her old lovers to defend the farm when her outlaw husband’s gang catches up with him. Michael Fassbender will be playing the ex-lover; Santoro has a speaking role, but it is not reported where he fits in.
Santoro was last seen in The Last Stand with Arnold Schwartzenegger and Johnny Knoxville, but he’s going to have to do a heck of a lot more than that to deter his female fans. He is set to star in the upcoming 300: Rise of an Empire, returning as Xerxes, the bald, gold-chained king.
Though we're excited for Santoro's Western role most of all, it'll also be good to see Natalie Portman back on the big screen too after her maternity hiaitus.
