New on DVD: May 22nd

Today's selection of brand-new DVD picks is a highly eclectic trio of films. Daniel Radcliffe's post-Potter surprise hit, The Woman in Black is out, and, if you're looking for gothic scares, this is one delivers. Watch it with the lights out for maximum effect.

For considerably more picturesque and romantic fare, the Criterion Collection has issued a typically pristine version of Abbas Kiarostami's Certified Copy, starring Juliette Binoche, William Shimell, and the scenery of Tuscany.

And, finally, in the family-friendly category, Studio Ghibli's The Secret World of Arrietty is a beautiful and thoughtful children's fantasy movie, co-written by revered animator Hayao Miyazaki. Though it's not quite on par with Miyazaki's finest work (My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away), it's still far better than most movies aimed at the kiddie set.
