Ed Helms may trek to Wally World in Vacation sequel

If someone has to replace Chevy Chase as the head of the dopey Griswold family in the upcoming Vacation reboot, we're glad Ed Helms is first in line. Thankfully, this is more of a proper sequel to the 1983 classic than a typical remake: if and when Helms accepts the role, he will play an all-grown-up Rusty Griswold, son of Chase's Clark Griswold, who is taking his own family on a road trip from Hell.

Horrible Bosses co-writers John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein penned the script, and production should be under way by mid-2013. As long as we don't see this second-generation Griswold leading his family through the exact same goofy mishaps as the original, this could actually turn out well. But if they absolutely must revisit one of the gags, seeing another dead relative strapped to the roof of the "family truckster" would work just fine.
