Cast of Suspiria remake announced
Dario Argento's bloody cult classic, Suspiria is getting a reboot from none other than director David Gordon Green.
No doubt Argento's films had their own sense of twisted dark humor, so we'll cross our fingers that Green will be able to successfully tap into his dark side. Playing the titular role of the American ballerina who goes abroad, Suzy, will be Isabelle Furham. Who has already proved her ability to terrorize audiences in The Orphan and The Hunger Games.
Joining Furham, is an exceptional international cast played by Swedish star Michael Nyqvist (Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), French actress Isabelle Huppert, English, Academy Award-nominee Janet McTeer (Albert Nobbs), and German actress Antje Traue (Pandorum). It seems the classic horror canon is the latest and trendiest genre Hollywood's been mining for material. Along with Suspiria, there are already a series of remakes in the works that include Carrie, An American Werewolf in London, and The Birds. We suppose Eli Roth and the rest of his ilk just aren't cutting it for audiences anymore-- then again, Piranha 3D has just been released.
