Bryan Cranston to tell Godzilla to stay out of his territory in new reboot

In an attempt to add a touch of prestige to the upcoming Gareth Edwards-directed, Frank Darabont-penned Godzilla reboot (yes, we just used the words "prestige" and "Godzilla reboot" in the same sentence), the film has added just a dash of Bryan Cranston to their giant lizard monster gumbo. Since, you know, he'll have a lot of free time after this summer. Sigh.

Cranston's specific role is shrouded in secrecy, but we're banking on him playing the type of square-jawed, gruff authority figure he's managed to master in Argo and Contagion. He'll probably growl stuff like, "Dammit, we need more firepower!" and make us all pine for the good old days, when he was poisoning kids and stuff. We doubt ricin will have much effect on Godzilla, though, much less Lilies of the Valley.

Below, watch something really unfortunate that happened the last time someone tried to reboot Godzilla.
