AMC's Area 51 series, for the conspiracy theorist in all of us

Area 51 doesn't exist. Or at least that's what the U.S. Government would have you believe. As a result of the secrecy, we let our imaginations run wild. It could be home to alien life that may or may not have touched down on our beloved planet. The facility may have even staged a fake moon landing in 1969. We have never received a credible account -- just rumors and speculation.

Thankfully, AMC is developing Annie Jacobsen's nonfiction book, "Area 51: An Uncensored History of America's Top Secret Military Base" in a television series. That ought to clear up all of the secrecy and drama.

Considering AMC's recent run with great television series like Breaking Bad and Mad Men, we have extremely high hopes for the project. Or worst-case scenario, it will hopefully have a longer run than the recently cancelled AMC series The Killing.
