Are you too cool to watch The First Time trailer?
Cue unrequited love. Because it hasn't been done before.
Recently released, the anticipated trailer for the upcoming film The First Time, confirms that romantic comedy is the genre that just keeps giving. Or won't die. Ever. Written and directed by Jon Kasdan, the film follows high school teens as they fall in love over a weekend. Don't roll your eyes yet. Yes, there is a boy, played by Dylan O'Brien, who is in love with the hot, out-of-reach girl, Victoria Justice. And there is the other unavailable girl who boy "unexpectedly" falls in love with, played by Britt Robertson. Let'd not forget the leaving-through-the-window scene and the getting-punched-in-the-face scene. But hey, it's genuine.
So call it cheesy, cliché, and overdramatic. But isn't that what teenage love is? D'aww, you bet it is. And Sundance seemed to agree.
Watch the trailer below and decide for yourself.
