Watch NYC synth-poppers Haerts revel in some ultra creepy PSAs
Haerts are a quartet from NYC who traffic in the sort of epic synth-pop one would commonly associate with Kate Bush or Peter Gabriel. Their songs bring to mind epic tales of life and death, of love and longing, and...a bunch of kids dying horrible deaths all throughout the English countryside. Y'know, ordinary song stuff.
At least that's what we see in the clip for their single "Wings". Using clips from a series of (ultra creepy) British PSAs from the '70s and '80s, the video is a dark and spooky affair that depicts a cloaked grim reaper watching children fall into lakes, fly their kites too close to some power lines, and step on some shards of glass on a beach. If the mission of this video is to get kids to be terrified of the outside world, then mission accomplished. Play some more video games, kids! They won't kill you, unlike nature!
Be sure to catch Haerts at SXSW this year, and watch the video for "Wings" below...if you dare!
