Tom Waits makes his big announcement after super cryptic teasers

Beginning last Thursday, Tom Waits' website began posting a series of cryptic photos. First came this one, with the caption "Permission to come aboard?"

Then came this one, captioned "I breathe better underwater."

Finally, this one, sporting the caption "Never bring a gun to a spoonfight."

There was much debate amongst Waits fans as to what the big announcement was. A world tour, perhaps? A new album? A film or stage project, perhaps with his wife and longtime collaborator Kathleen Brennan?

Turns out it's a new video for the song "Hell Broke Luce," from last year's Bad As Me. Which...you know, it's a really good video for a great song and all, but after getting our hopes up with this ongoing teaser campaign, we can't help but be a little disappointed that it's just a video. We'd sort of expected something a little bigger.
