The Rolling Stones still rock, release Doom and Gloom sing-a-long
If there is one thing that hasn’t changed over the last fifty years, it’s The Rolling Stones’ ability to get our heads bobbing like marionettes the second one of their songs comes on.
Their latest single is no different.
“Doom and Gloom” is raucous and easy to sing along to. And in the unlikely event that you can’t make out what Mick Jagger is bellowing, a sing-along video (that shares an eerie resemblence to Disney’s sing-alongs) has been released in accompaniment.
Words are seemingly becoming less and less essential in the Stones' body of work. The single comes off their forthcoming album GRRR!, which will be released in the U.S. on November 13th through ABKCO Music & Records. The release will be a hits set to celebrate the group’s 50th anniversary and will be offered as everything from a digital download to a 5 Vinyl LP set.
So if you’re in the mood for some good, old-fashioned rock and roll, you’re in luck. “Doom and Gloom” reconstitutes the best of the genre, while leaving little to the imagination.
