The Flaming Lips wanna be adored, covering entire Stone Roses album
The Flaming Lips will continue to just do whatever the they want whenever they want by covering The Stone Roses' classic 1989 self-titled LP in it's entirety. Apparently, they had a spare minute or two in between the gummy skulls and the anatomically correct chocolate hearts and the whole grenade kerfuffle and oh yeah, their new studio album, The Terror, due out April 1st.
Having already given the track for track cover treatment to The Dark Side of the Moon and In the Court of the Crimson King, Wayne Coyne and his heady fwends plan on making the Madchester legends' classic debut their latest pet project. Look for collaborations from fellow Oklahoma weirdos Stardeath and White Dwarfs, HOTT MT, Depth & Current, and Def Rain, amongst other secret guests. Is it too much to ask for a Ke$ha vocal on "Made of Stone"?
Check out an appropriately wacky behind-the-scenes clip from the recording sessions below to remind yourself that it truly is Wayne's World (schwing!), we just live and eat gummy skulls in it.
