Pull out your Plastic Letters, Blondie is back on tour

It's virtually impossible to think of New York City and the punk movement without thinking of Blondie. The band was cardinal in NYC's 1970s punk scene and almost forty full years after their formation, the uber talented group is going back on tour to remind us all what innovation sounds like.

The Whip It To Shreds select city tour follows Blondie and new wave masters Devo on a sure-to-be-epic two and a half week circuit, starting September 7 in Woodinville, Washington. After the last show on September 26 in Chicago, the group will head to the East Coast for An Evening With Blondie, a special 7-date tour guaranteed to be chockfull of Blondie classics, as well as new songs from their 2011 critically acclaimed album, Panic of Girls. Lucky Maryland fans will also get to catch Cheap Trick alongside Blondie on September 30.

Says Devo's Mark Mothersbaugh, "We are looking forward to performing alongside Blondie and swapping costumes backstage." Um, yes please.

Tickets for both tours are on sale now, excluding the October 7 show in NYC, which will be available on August 17. For a complete list of tour dates and schedules, click on over to Blondie's website.
