Find sweet satisfaction with Taken By Trees' Victoria Bergsman's solo project

When Victoria Bergsman departed from the Swedish pop band The Concretes to work on her solo career in 2006, fans held their breath as they waited to see what would become of the founding member’s tangent. The emergence of Taken By Trees just over a year later revealed that something entirely and uniquely Bergsman had been brewing within The Concretes all along and oh, was it good.

By the time Bergsman partnered with Animal Collective’s Noah Lennox and Pakistani musician Sain Muhammad Ali on her follow-up East of Eden, she had completed a definite transformation from her previous verging-on-twee incarnation. And we were left with the sweet satisfaction one only finds in witnessing a close one come into her own. Other Worlds, Bergsman’s third solo product to be released through Secretly Canadian on October 2nd, will either confirm this contentment or challenge us to accept the relentless development of what we understand to be good.

Taken by Trees will continue its U.S. tour with Jens Lekman before their European dates beginning November 22nd.
