Who better than Ty Segall and White Fence for a Velvet Underground tribute?

In celebration of the 45th anniversary of Velvet Underground's seminal debut album, Velvet Underground and Nico, Universal Records is reissuing the record in a box set. The reissue will include 30 unreleased songs and an 88 page essay written by notable author and journalist Richie Unterberger. Along with the box set, a stereo version of the album will be released as a deluxe edition, which will include some of the band's rehearsal sessions.

Castle Face Records is also riding the celebration wave by releasing an allstar tribute album of Velvet Underground and Nico. Bands like The Fresh And Onlys, White Fence, Thee Oh Sees, Kelly Stoltz, Ty Segall, and more will be contributing cover versions of the legendary tracks. Every day between October 15 and October 29, a different song will be made available to the public for download, and the tribute album will officially be released exclusively on vinyl on November 6th.

The songs can be downloaded from Amazon and you can check out the track listing and corresponding cover band here.
