Track of the Day: Purity Ring, “Obedear”

"Obedear" is the fourth track from the somewhat inexplicably buzzed-about Canadian band Purity Ring. The buzz isn't inexplicable because their songs are bad, but only because this is literally their fourth song anyone has ever heard. Coming on like a more cleaned up version of Grimes with some more hip-hop friendly beats, "Obedear" is the kind of slinky electro jam that sounds equally at home on a dance floor or played via the quiet solitude of good headphones. It's also a good harbinger of what Purity Ring's debut album, Shrines, has in store when it gets released this summer. Early summer jam, anyone?
