Tortoise announce tour dates, vinyl reissue

As part of the 20th anniversary celebrations for Chicago institution Thrill Jockey Records, post-rock legends Tortoise are hitting the road this spring and summer. The tour starts this Wednesday, April 25, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and wraps up July 20 in Tonsberg, Norway. The group will be playing 20 dates in all; full dates are available at the Thrill Jockey website.

Thrill Jockey is continuing their series of vinyl reissues of Tortoise's back catalogue next month with a sumptuously packaged LP remaster of possibly the band's finest album, Millions Now Living Will Never Die. Taking its title from an early 20th century tenet of the Jehovah's Witnesses, the 1996 album builds on and perfects the mix of indie rock, jazz, chamber music and electronica laid out on their self-titled debut. Check out the truncated but evocative video for album highlight "Glass Museum" below.

Millions Now Living Will Never Die will be out May 15. Four more (non-sequential) vinyl reissues will follow later in the year.
