Three new titles by Juergen Teller
Notorious fashion photographer and contentious artist Juergen Teller is in the process of releasing three new books over the course of three months this year through German publisher Gerhard Steidl: Pictures and Text in May; The Keys to the House in June; and The Master III in July.
Pictures and Text is a compilation of the artist's "On The Road With Juergen Teller" column for the companion magazine of renowned German newspaper Die Zeit, in which he would introduce a new photo each week accompanied by a pithy caption. Included in the book's slipcover is a supplemental text entitled Literature, which is an assortment of complaint letters the paper received from offended readers during the column's run.
The Master III and The Keys to the House will continue the controversial photographer's ongoing trend of pairing commercial work with more intimate pieces. The Master III will showcase Teller's commissioned work along with self-portraits and family photos, while The Keys to the House documents Teller's life around his house in Suffolk, England-- with the occasional photo of a celebrity thrown in.
For those in the NYC area, Dashwood Books will be hosting a book-signing event for Teller on Wednesday June 6, 2012 at 33 Bond Street from 6-8 p.m.
