The MoMA brings dance to the Atrium
Known for its unique exhibits of contemporary art, The Museum of Modern Art in NYC is taking on a new medium; dance. Choreographer and conceptual artist, Ralph Lemon has been commissioned to create a three-week series titled "Some Sweet Day". Lemon is a distinguished choreographer known for stretching the traditional boundaries of dance by creating layered performances that are rich with culture and diversity.
The showcase will also include six other choreographers who, according to the museum, "intend to display aesthetics, gender, race and history", through dance. Aside from The Whitney in New York City, few other museums have embarked on this type of programming. The series will run from October 14th to November 4th of this year in the museum's atrium.
