The Clean announces US dates with Times New Viking

New Zealand indie legends The Clean have announced their first US tour in ages. Following an opening show at Los Angeles hotspot The Echo on May 30 and a slot in Austin's Chaos In Tejas Festival on June 2, the tour proper starts June 4 at Boston's Brighton Music Hall and ends June 8 at Local 506 in Chapel Hill, NC.

So yeah, it's only seven dates, but The Clean have always been a decidedly part-time affair for bandmembers Robert Scott (who also leads the equally beloved The Bats), David Kilgour and Hamish Kilgour: 2009's Mister Pop was the band's first album in 8 years and only their fifth full-length since they debuted with the all-time indie classic "Tally Ho!" single back in 1981.

Oh, and did we mention that the opening act on the Boston through Chapel Hill dates will be buzzy indie kids Times New Viking? It's the first dream bill of the summer concert season!
