Seven Psychopaths on the way
Since the release of In Bruges in 2008, anticipation has been high regarding what award-winning Irish playwright and filmmaker Martin McDonagh would do next. Word started circulating in early 2011 that it was a project called Seven Psychopaths, but not much more was known about it. Whatever it was, though, you knew it would be darkly comedic, violent, and filled with gloriously quotable, profanity-laden dialogue.
A few months later, a synopsis was finally made public and a stellar cast was announced: Colin Farrell, Sam Rockwell, Christopher Walken, Woody Harrelson, Tom Waits, Abbie Cornish, and Olga Kurylenko. The film would be about a screenwriter with writer's block who desperately needs inspiring material to get the creative juices flowing again. Luckily, the screenwriter's best friend, an out-of-work actor, and his buddy, an aging criminal, steal dogs on the side and get the screenwriter involved. Things go horribly wrong when they steal the mutt of a deranged mobster.
During last week's CinemaCon in Las Vegas the folks at Collider spotted the first official poster and snapped a photo of it. A small morsel to savor before the film is released theatrically in November.
