Robert Indiana gets Super Bowl exposure

Artist Robert Indiana- best known for his iconographic LOVE sculptures- was an unlikely sideshow act at the Super Bowl circus on Sunday in Indianapolis. In honor of the 46th edition of the Super Bowl, Indiana (nee Robert Clark) a native of the state, had his giant colorful numeral sculptures 4 and 6 displayed at the Indiana Museum of Art.

The numbers are part of a 1981 commission that the artist called ''the largest and most important of my life'' at the time. Begun in the 1950s, the numerals are part of a set of ten and are 8 feet high, 8 feet across and four feet deep - only slightly bigger than the some of the players doing battle in Sunday's game.
