Pivotal first track off live Sonic Youth album released

Their first of many apparent archival projects, iconic noise-rock band Sonic Youth is set to release a new live album on November 13, Smart Bar – Chicago 1985. The band recently shared via Twitter a sneak peek into the upcoming record, “Intro/Brave Men Run (In My Family)," which was the first track off their 1985 album Bad Moon Rising. Via Goofin' Records, the recordings were done on four-track cassette by Sonic Youth followers at the time.

Part of the first wave in noise rock in the 80's, Sonic Youth is a pivotal player in the rise of the experimental indie genre that is currently running the airwaves; often off-tuning their guitars or adding objects to the instruments to warp the sound.

Listen to the recently released preview clip of “Intro/Brave Men Run (In My Family)” below.
