Paul Weller announces one-venue American tour in support of upcoming album

The Modfather himself Paul Weller has just announced that he'll play an exclusive 2-date gig at New York City's Best Buy Theater on May 18th and 19th. His latest album Sonik Kicks is slated for release on March 27th, and from what we've heard of it, packs as much punchy pop as you can imagine. As opposed to 2010's super-eclectic Wake Up The Nation, which we'd described as "one daft album."

Pre-sale tickets for the NYC shows are available now on Ticketmaster (password is Sonik), but they'll officially go on sale February 3rd at noon here. In the meantime, you can tide yourselves over with one infectious track from the new album which we'd tweeted about a couple of months back called "Around the Lake".
