Parks and Rec snags Joe Mande for upcoming season
NBC favorite Parks and Recreation has turned to Twitter yet again to fill its ranks, tapping Joe Mande of @JoeMande fame (OK, that's a stretch) to join fellow Twittedian (just made that word up) Megan Amram in the writer's room for the upcoming season. Mande is a veteran of the NYC standup scene, and already has a solid resume, having written for Adult Swim's cult hit Delocated, while boasting collaborations with Nick Kroll and Marc Maron, among others.
It's nice to see Mande join Amram in getting their dues after the often thankless and exhausting work they put in consistently cranking out 140-character jokes. They join Rob Delaney as three of the funnier people on Twitter to see some mainstream success, so here's hoping producers are starting to take more chances on underappreciated comics. Mande's dry humor should play well on Parks and Rec, and we think it'll complement Amram's uniquely surreal humor nicely.
