NPR Music to stream Celebrate Brooklyn concerts this summer
Free summer concerts in the park are one of those New York traditions that make up for the exorbitant price of everything else in the city. And now you don't even have to be a resident to hear the Celebrate Brooklyn concert series in Prospect Park thanks to NPR Music, who will be live streaming the headliner acts all summer long.
Beginning in June, NPR Music, along with public radio stations WFUV and WNYC will stream live from the bandshell and concerts will be archived for on-demand listening at the site, in the apps and as podcasts. The current schedule is chocked-full of heavy hitters such as: Jimmy Cliff, Dirty Projectors, Wye Oak, Purity Ring, Hot Chip, Gang Gang Dance, Sigur Ros, and even more acts to be announced. They will also be streaming other festivals this summer like the Sasquatch festival, Bonnaroo and All Tomorrow's Parties. Consider it the silver lining if you'll be stuck indoors working this summer.
