New Leonard Cohen biography

Renowned music journalist Sylvie Simmons is set to release the Leonard Cohen biography, I'm Your Man, through Harper Collins imprint Ecco Press on September 11, 2012.

I'm Your Man will be Simmons' third music biography, following her 2001 release of Neil Young: Reflections Broken in Glass and the 2002 publication Serge Gainsbourg: A fistful of Gitanes. She also wrote the liner notes for Leonard Cohen Live at the Isle of Wight 1970, for which she won the ASCAP Deems Taylor award.

Simmons' wealth of knowledge on the influential poet and singer is drawn from a long and eclectic list of interviewees including Cohen's close friends and colleagues, as well as rabbis, and monks. With the aid of these extensive interviews, Simmons was able to paint an accurate and intimate portrait of Cohen's childhood in Canada, his thriving music and literary career, and the five years that the now-ordained monk spent at a Buddhist monastery outside of L.A.
