New Dinosaur Jr. video goes Funny Or Die with Tim Heidecker

On June 29, Dinosaur Jr. released their first single from the forthcoming album I Bet On Sky due out September 18 through Jagjaguwar. The track, "Watch the Corners," features a surprisingly lucid melody plus a dash of their traditional high gain psych-soloing that fits the pacing of the music video released via Funny Or Die. Veteran FOD-ers The Director Brothers took charge of the video, which features Internet wacky comedy-king Tim Heidecker (of Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!) as an overprotective father dismayed by his teenage daughter's brief, nondescript romance with a coworker.

Taking place largely in a supermarket, the video follows the teenage girl clerk as she falls for a long-haired, 40-drinking skateboarder (who looks like he definitely listens to Dinosaur Jr.), who seems to turn everything he touches into pixelated/censored whirlpools (such as cigarettes, or the girl's face after they make out). Although Dino Jr. only appear as a digitally-blurred band on the girl's TV, their obligatory soaring guitar riff at the end fuels Heidecker as he avenges his daughter's broken heart by trashing the grocery store aisle where the digitally-blurred boy is mopping.
