New Animal Collective single clangs and bangs

And the saga of Animal Collective continues. With Noah Lennox (aka Panda Bear) on the controls, "Today's Supernatural", the first taste of Animal Collective's new LP, was premiered last night on the band's online radio show.

First thing's first: "Today's Supernatural", the second track on Centipede Hz is very Animal Collective. It features clanging, spastic percussion, synthesizers that sound like everything from carnival rides to frogs ribbit-ing, and lines like "Come on let go, bionic hee-haw!". We'd say it reminds us most of the fare on 2007's Strawberry Jam, though knowing this band, it's probably best to wait to hear all of Centipede Hz (due September 4 on Domino, by the way) before making any such assessments.

New episode's of Animal Collective's radio show will be streaming Sunday nights at 9 pm over at Centipede Radio.
