Neutral Milk Hotel meets hip-hop
In the best album-length mashup in ages, British producer Psycosis has created In My G4 Over Da Sea by Neutral Bling Hotel. Combining Jeff Mangum and company's 1998 psych-folk masterpiece with more recent hip-hop hits by the likes of Jay-Z, Pitbull and Dr. Dre doesn't automatically sound like a winning concept, but Psycosis skillfully edits the disparate pieces into a coherent whole: the Kanye West-starring "King of Jesus Walks, Parts 2 and 3" is particularly genius.
