Multimedia fest celebrates Frank Tovey
Electronic music pioneer Frank Tovey, founder of the influential late 1970's band Fad Gadget will be celebrated in March with FGFt, a multi-disciplinary festival on the 10th anniversary of his death. Comprising a group exhibition, a film and live music performances, the event was inspired by the doc Fad Gadget by Frank Tovey, which will be shown March 10 at New York's Anthology Film Archives showcasing the edgy pioneer's deeply committed approach to his work.
There will also be a group show featuring work inspired and influenced by Tovey by a long roster of artists, among them Terence Koh, Olaf Breuning, Alex Rose and Fischerspooner and will be on view until April 8th. All events are free and it will be a great way to pay tribute to an under-appreciated member of the creative community who left us too soon.
