Maurice Sendak documentary now on Hulu
Earlier this week, Maurice Sendak, the author and illustrator of such beloved books as Where The Wild Things Are and In the Night Kitchen, passed away. Upon hearing the news of his demise, millions of fans young and old who connected to his bittersweet insights into childhood took to the web to express their grief and admiration for the man behind the wild rumpus in the form of video tributes, memes and shared memories.
Now Hulu has joined their ranks making available Tell Them Anything You Want: A Portrait of Maurice Sendak, the 2009 documentary short that Spike Jonze created while he prepared the movie adaption of Where The Wild Things Are. Distributed by Oscilloscope Pictures, the 40-minute exploration of Sendak's life and works not only serves as a glorious tribute to the complicated children's book author, but also to recently passed Oscilloscope co-founder Adam "MCA" Yauch of Beastie Boys fame.
