M. Ward to release new album & tour
This should see you through till spring: M. Ward has just announced that his sixth solo album A Wasteland Companion will be released in April, and he'll kick off a tour on February 2nd in L.A., wrapping up May 24th in Minneapolis. Ward says the concept for this album is a "musical travelogue" in which the evaluation of creative and material necessities is central to the journey on which the album takes the listener.
For Ward, this means a whole lot of collaboration: Wasteland features 18 different musical artist collaborations on all 18 of the album's tracks respectively. She & Him partner and New Girl television star Zooey Deschanel does a guest vocal on one track, while Sonic Youth drummer Steve Shelley and PJ Harvey's frequent creative partner John Parish appear as well.
