London 2012 Festival opens with Stonehenge bouncy castle

The London 2012 Festival is making quite a splash this year, or should I say bounce, by announcing that Artist Jeremy Deller's inflatable life-size replica of Stonehenge will open the festivities at the National Botanic Garden in Carmarthenshire. From there it will travel to 25 different locations throughout the country. The piece, entitled "Sacrilege," is a 20-foot high bouncy castle and first debuted in April in Glasgow, Scotland.

The 12-week festival will include more than 12,000 events and coincides with the 2012 Olympic games. In addition to "Sacrilege," some other activities creating buzz include Yoko Ono's "Imagine Peace" installation, performances by Duran Duran, Blur, Rihanna and Jay-Z, as well as the concert showcase by Peace One Day-- an organization whose goal is to create one-day-a-year with no conflict-- with Elton John headlining.
