Hammer Films is back from the dead
Hammer Films, the British studio renowned for its grand old horror movies starring Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing, was quietly resurrected a few years back, but, following the commercial success of its latest production, The Woman in Black, the company is getting back into fighting form.
The horror news source Bloody Disgusting reports that Michael Sheen has been approached to play the lead in a paranormal drama called The Quiet Ones, and the studio is also prepping Gaslight, a period thriller involving Jack the Ripper. With Hammer already behind the wonderfully creepy Woman in Black and the excellent vampire remake Let Me In, it seems likely that phrase "Hammer Horror" could become prominent yet again.
