Game of Thrones renewed for Season 3

In an announcement that will surprise absolutely no one, HBO just confirmed that Games of Thrones will be back for a third season.

Based on George R.R. Martin's highly successful novels in the Song of Ice and Fire series and adapted for television by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, the fantasy show has proved to be a runaway hit for the cable network and led to a rabid following, even among those not usually inclined towards dragons and high drama.

The current run of Game of Thrones will air through early June, after which fans can begin obsessing about what treachery will unfold in Season 3. Who are we kidding? They'll start obsessing right now.
