Fox adapts Axe Cop for TV

It isn't often that a concept dreamed up by a 5-year-old becomes a TV series, but that is exactly the case with Axe Cop. Fox has chosen the award-winning and hilarious web comic to be adapted into the network's late-night Animation Domination HD block, kicking off in early 2013.

After debuting in 2010, Axe Cop earned heaps of praise for its creators, 5-year-old writer Malachai Nicolle and his brother Ethan, 29. The plot is simple: a cop who prefers to wield an axe instead of a gun battles zombies, robots, and dinosaurs while shouting brilliant lines such as, "I WILL CHOP YOUR HEADS OFF!!" The entirely random, anything-can-happen nature of Axe Cop should translate perfectly into Fox's planned fifteen-minute episodes.
