Evil Dead remake debuts the goriest trailer we've ever seen
The upcoming remake of Evil Dead has debuted its first full-length trailer as part of the continuing mission to win over diehard fans of the original no-budget horror classic who grouse over the sacrilege of such an update (despite the endorsement of both Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell), the new film's lack of madcap comedy (despite the fact that Evil Dead II is really the franchise's first foray into "Three Stooges on acid" territory), and how irrelevant a film like this is going to seem in the wake of The Cabin in the Woods (despite...well, ok, that's a tough one to argue).
Fortunately, director Fede Alvarez assumes that we already know the story of the film (spooky cabin, cursed book, grabby tree, chainsaw hand, etc.), and doesn't let all that get in the way of the quickest route to a horror fan's heart: gore, and lots of it. And on that note, sweet sassy molassy, is this thing bloody. There are more fountains of viscous red liquid in this 2:22 long trailer than there are in most feature-length films.
You can watch the trailer below, but seriously, be warned, this thing is not only extremely NSFW (in almost every sense of the term), but it's definitely not for those who can't stand the sight of blood. Seriously.
We're not joking. There is SO. MUCH. BLOOD. Ok guys, don't say we didn't warn you.
