Death From Above 1979 reunite, throw new songs to the lions
In 2011, the Toronto-based post-punk rock duo Death from Above 1979 reunited after a five year -- and very salacious -- split to announce they would be performing at the Coachella Festival.
Bassist Jesse F. Keeler and singer/drummer Sebastien Grainger originally dismantled in 2005 to take on other projects -- Keeler actually formed the electro-duo MSTRKRFT. Still, nothing seems as promising as their 2004 album You’re a Woman, I’m a Machine. Now, the band has announced via Twitter that they have written a few new songs and will be testing them on "the lions" (read: Canadian audiences) “to see who survives.”
We're staying tuned.
