Damien Hirst gets into the house business

Damien Hirst-- the man who has made a career out of self-aggrandizement-- is now involved in a venture to built eco-friendly homes in the English town of North Devon, where he himself has a home. The erstwhile developer has got his hand in 500 sustainable houses featuring wind-turbines, solar panels and other state-of-the-art green features designed to take eco-conscious living to the next level. Is this a new side of the oft-vilified artist or simply another publicity stunt  According to his architect, "[Hirst] has a horror of building anonymous, lifeless buildings. He wants these houses to be the kind of homes he would want to live in," bringing to mind so many disturbing mental images it's best we stop here.
