Cloud Nothings will continue to bring the noise back to indie rock in 2013

Cloud Nothings frontman Dylan Baldi clearly is not content to just rest on the laurels of his group's excellent 2012 album, Attack on Memory, instead telling MTV Hive that he plans to release another Cloud Nothings album sometime in 2013.

Baldi and co. will begin recording in April, with an eye towards a fall release date. He describes the new songs as "noisier and less straightforward", adding that at least one new track "sounds a lot like early Wire". For those of us who had spent so long wondering when some young bloods would put the "rock" back in "indie rock" after years of milquetoast glockenspiels and bedroom samplers, this is welcome news indeed.

Displaying that midwestern work ethic that has fueled so many of Ohio's finest indie rock legends, from Pere Ubu to Guided By Voices, Baldi went on to declare, "I want to do one thing each year or else I'll feel like I'm lazy."

Sounds like a good plan to us, dude.
