Chloe Moretz cast as Carrie
Chloe Moretz beat out a number of young actresses including Dakota Fanning and Lily Collins to star in MGM/Kim Peirce's re-make of classic horror film (and Stephen King novel adaptation) Carrie. Moretz certainly has her work cut our for her in filling the shoes of Sissy Spacek, whose performance (and infamous pig's blood scene) in Brian DePalma's 1976 film left an indelible and iconic impression in the world of horror as we know it. No word yet on if and how this upcoming remake will put a new spin the Carrie story, but if Moretz's body of work is any indication, things are looking up for the film already.
