Carl Barat rounds up Johnny Marr and more homies for guitar-driven album

Former Libertine Carl Barat has announced the confirmation of Smiths guitar hero Johnny Marr to collaborate with him for his second solo album. While Barat's 2010 eponymous solo debut was more piano-based, Barat says that his sophomore album will be more guitar-driven.

Also joining Barat will be former Razorlight drummer Andy Burrows who, along with playing drums, will also help out with songwriting duties. Other songwriting collabs on the record will feature Eyes On Film singer Dan Miller and French actor/singer Benjamin Biolay. A producer has yet to be chosen for the album.

The so-far-untitled album is scheduled for release in the latter half of 2013.
