Cannes kicks off with Wes Anderson's latest

The 65th Cannes Film Festival (May 16-27) is on the horizon, and a few key details about this year's celebration have been unveiled.

The new Wes Anderson film, Moonrise Kingdom, is slated to open the Gallic fest. Featuring Anderson regulars Jason Schwartzman and Bill Murray, the movie, the filmmaker's first live-action production since 2007's The Darjeeling Limited, is set in 1960s New England. The ensemble cast also includes Tilda Swinton, Edward Norton, and Bruce Willis.

Meanwhile, Palme d'Or-winning Italian director Nanni Moretti (The Son's Room) has been announced as president of the jury, and Marilyn Monroe has been selected as the image of the celebration to honor the 50th anniversary of the Hollywood legend's death. The full Cannes lineup will be revealed on April 19th.
