Bradford Cox gets his very own experimental VHS documentary

Bradford Cox, the delightfully irascible mind behind Deerhunter and Atlas Sound, is the subject of a new experimental documentary, because an experimental documentary is really the only format that one can use to glean new information about a guy who once literally blogged about his own bowel movements.

Directed by Grant Singer, Youth Museum follows Cox on a hazy VHS odyssey as he goes about the business of being Cox, which seems to mean home recording, playing with a cat, and staring forlornly at no one in particular. If Trash Humpers was created by Pitchfork, it'd probably look a lot like this.

The film, which was commissioned by the magazine Riot of Perfume, will premiere this week, February 3rd, at MoMA PS1. Following the screening, Cox will give a short performance, featuring a "surprise guest". Will it be Deerhunter bandmate Lockett Pundt? Cole Alexander from The Black Lips? Christopher Cross? Kriss Kross?

Christopher Cross AND Kriss Kross together at last?! Probably not, but if it does happen, remember, you heard it here first!
