Bonnie Prince Billy announces new EP, reissue campaign
Drag City Records has announced a new EP by Bonnie "Prince" Billy: Now Here's My Plan will be released on CD and vinyl on June 23. In keeping with Will Oldham's occasional tendency to rework his back catalogue (see 2004's Greatest Palace Music), the EP consists of six songs from throughout his catalogue in new versions by the band that backed him on the recent Wolfroy Goes To Town tour. The EP is intended to accompany the upcoming book Will Oldham on Bonnie "Prince" Billy, a series of transcribed conversations between the musician/actor and guitarist Alan Licht, which will be out in June in Britain and September in the US.
Also coming this summer, Oldham's UK label Domino Records will be following up this year's earlier reissue of the entire Palace canon by reissuing six albums originally released between 1996 and 2004: Arise Therefore, Joya, I See A Darkness, Ease Down the Road, Master and Everyone and the aforementioned Greatest Palace Music. The first of these albums was originally released without an artist credit, and the second was the only album ever credited to Oldham under his own name; both will be re-credited to Bonnie "Prince" Billy.
