Beach House shows what happens when things get real in Wild video
Dream-pop duo Beach House, comprised of Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally, have released their emotionally charged video for "Wild," a track from their latest record, Bloom.
The intense video starts out harmlessly enough with a snowy television screen, the very same image at the end of the band's "Lazuli" video. Throughout this video, however, there are several bleak scenarios introduced -- most of which seem beyond repair. A few of the misfortunate individuals included are two best friends fighting, a guy smoking and crying among hundred dollar bills, a man running away from a gang, and another man sitting in a bathtub staring blankly ahead. Conflict being the common thread, within themselves or caused by others, each one of is struggling with to an escape.
Though the video's setting is mostly dreary, there's a flash of relief in the form of a cute dog toward the end. The subtlely unnerving undertones of the track are paired well with the intensity and darkness portrayed in the video, though, with a fluttering thread of hope faintly present in both the video and song.
Beach House are currently on a world tour from November to March and they will be making stops in Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands, France, Australia, Japan, South Korea and England.
