Art Basel to launch in Hong Kong
There are many art fairs and exhibitions that take place around the world, but few compare to the size and diversity of Art Basel. Founded in 1970, Art Basel is a world-renowned international art show that originated in Basel, Switzerland and has a yearly Stateside exhibition in Miami Beach. Now, Art Basel directors Annette Schönholzer and Marc Spiegler have annouced that they'll expand their reach to Hong Kong.
All shows feature an assorted selection of artists from every continent, including the up-and-coming to the well-established, however, each exhibition remains unique to its city and region. With the opening in Hong Kong, Art Basel will now be present in three major regions of the world, giving us global access to the arts, from the West to the far East.
The first show in Hong Kong will take place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from May 23 to Sunday May 26, 2013.
