Aphex Twin announces Remote Orchestra show
Richard David James' long-running electronic project Aphex Twin plans to get a little futuristic this October. He's bringing his unique "Remote Orchestra" idea to his native UK for the first time. It involves a 28-piece string section and a 12-person choir all being controlled remotely by James himself.
He premiered the "Remote Orchestra" last year at the European Culture Congress in Wroclaw, Poland, where he directed a response to Polish compositor Krzysztof Penderecki's Threnody For The Victims of Hiroshima. Tickets for the October 10th Barbican Hall performance go on sale tomorrow (June 28) here.
