You're going to want to sit front and center for Professor Questlove at NYU

If you're a fan of The Roots and an NYU student you're in luck because legendary Roots drummer Questlove will be teaching a course on classic albums this spring, Billboard reported. His lectures are said to be focuesed on what makes an album stand the test of time, and will lok cloesly at lyrics, music, and production of some of history's best selling albums. 

Questlove (real name Amir Thompson) will be joining the illustrious Clive Davis Insitute for Recorded Music, and has already gained a reputation as an unofficial scholar of pop. The course will focus not just in hip-hop, but in music in general. 

The music icon will be teaching his two-credit course starting this spring, and it is said to include albums such as Sly and the Family Stone's "Stand!"; Michael Jackson's "Off the Wall"; and The Beastie Boys' Paul's Boutique.

No word yet on whether or not students will be calling him Mr. Thompson or Dr. Questlove.
